About Ed Miracle.
Ed Miracle was a star running back at Middlesboro High School in Bell County, Kentucky. He was awarded a college scholarship at Eastern Kentucky University—then Eastern Kentucky State College—and went on to play as a running back and defensive back. Following graduation from college, he moved to Lynch in 1957 from Jenkins, where he was a basketball coach and assistant football coach.

During Miracle's 15-year tenure as the head of the Lynch High School football program (Harlan County), he created an Eastern Kentucky football dynasty. The Bulldogs captured 13 Class A district championships, eight state finals, and four state titles between 1959 and 1971. He also coached winning basketball and football teams in Madison County, where he was a coach and athletic director until he retired in 1992.
Following his retirement, Miracle was inducted into the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
Miracle was both a teacher and coach. He recognized and nurtured the talents of his students or athletes, confirming his belief in the potential of all children. Miracle's passion for education and coaching was truly inspiring.
Miracle was a firm believer in the transformative power of education. He was awarded a college scholarship, enabling him to pursue his dreams and turn it into a lifelong teaching and coaching career.

After a successful career, he continues to make a difference through the Ed Miracle Scholarship Foundation, which aims to support students with a desire to attend college and a need for financial support.

About the Foundation.
The Ed Miracle Scholarship Foundation, established in 2013 after his passing by his wife, Donna Miracle, their son Glen Miracle, and daughter Michele Feld, founded to honor the legacy of Ed Miracle, a passionate and successful coach and teacher.
The Foundation is dedicated to advancing the education of students from the two high schools Ed Miracle taught and coached, Madison Central (Richmond, KY) and Harlan County (Lynch, KY). Each year, four to six students with a strong desire to attend college who have financial need are selected by their high school advisor.
The Foundation has awarded over 50 scholarships since 2103. We encourage potential donors and students to join us in this vital cause.
Join us at an upcoming fundraising event (golf outing) or consider donating online or by mail to help us continue Ed Miracle's legacy!
